Built using authentic period construction—including hand-hewn back panels, pegged mortise-and-tenon joinery, and long hand-forged iron strap hinges—the piece retains its original structural integrity while displaying a wonderfully weathered, multi-layered painted patina in soft ivory and muted sky blue. Resting on sturdy turned bun feet, its upper corners feature high-relief floral acanthus scrollwork framing central bird motifs in flight.
