Dated 1783 Scandinavian / Alpine Painted Pine Marriage Armoire

Dated 1783 and inscribed "J7A. E L" on the upper frieze, this late 18th-century painted pine armoire features traditional folk art decoration (Bauernmalerei / Rosemaling). Built with an angled, canted frame and a single central door, the piece displays hand-painted floral motifs on dark green inset panels, faux-grain painted pine panels, and a painted floral interior drawer. Constructed using pegged mortise-and-tenon joinery, wide hand-planed pine backing boards, and original hand-forged iron surface latches, iron strap hinges, and lock hardware.
