18th-Century French Regional Louis XIII Style Walnut Buffet-Deux-Corps
$7,500.00
An 18th-century French regional cabinet crafted in solid walnut, this two-body buffet-deux-corps features prominent Louis XIII architectural details, including four diamond-point (pointe de diamant) doors, dramatic barley-twist (torché) side columns, and two central drawers. The upper frieze is hand-carved with central and corner winged cherub heads (putti) set against leaf-patterned moldings. Constructed using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery with wooden pegs, hand-planed back panels, and hand-forged iron hardware, the piece rests on turned bun feet and retains a warm, aged patina with ebonized accent molding.
