Project Reveal

My top 10 Fireplaces …
Time to get cozy!

I have many favorite fireplaces from our projects! With the weather cooling down in Michigan it’s time to gather around and get cozy. The design of your fireplace should align with the architecture of your home, and definitely make a statement.

This home was built in 1927. We were part of a team that designed and restored this gem back to it’s original bones, including the removal of fake 12x12 marble tile on the fireplace surround, revealing beautiful aged brick!

Next, we have the two sided fireplace. I loved working on this layout; any time I can fit a fireplace in a kitchen I am a happy designer! Designing modern interiors that feel warm and inviting is one of our specialties.

This limestone surround fireplace was designed in a new construction home we completed, and sits right next to the kitchen. Baskets sit below the hearth for blankets, and provide a hiding nook for the family cat.

Another stunning 1920’s home from our portfolio! Uniting the walls and woodwork with the same deep blue/green color added a lot of drama. The fireplace surround tile had been covered up by trendy, dated tile. We removed the ugly tile and created a fresh look with historic references in mind.

This Lake Michigan beach house is eclectic and casual with a full stone fireplace surround and reclaimed beam mantle — the real deal.

One of my all time favorite projects — the renovation of this modern West Michigan gem designed by Otto Stark in the 1960’s. We were able to save the original fireplace and relocate it. A stunning piece against the floor to ceiling windows!

It was an absolute delight to work with two fireplaces from this home dating back to the 1860’s. Truly, one of a kind and enhanced the overall design we installed. So inspirational!

This project was all about ripping out the bad remodel projects and going back to the roots of this home. Modern, simple, natural. I love this floor to ceiling natural stone. It feels timeless and casual. We stacked it without mortar for an enhanced mid-century vibe.

And finally a condo with character, fireplace in the primary bedroom. Iridescent three dimensional tile, streamlined ceiling mount draperies and a tufted chaise lounge, what could be better?
